By May 1967, Egypt has moved massive amounts of troops and armor into Sinai. Egyptian Navy blockades the Gulf of Aqaba. Armies of Lebanon, Syria and Jordan mass along the north and west borders od Israel.

June 5, Israel preempts the Arab attack and strikes at Egyptian airbases. Israel routs the Egyptian forces and seizes Gaza and Sinai.

Jordon shells Tel Aviv and West Jerusalem. Israel retaliates by taking the remains of Arab held Jerusalem, they seize the West Bank from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. All Historical Palestine is now inder Israeli military control.

UN Resolution 242 calls on Israel to withdraw to the "Green Line" (1967 Borders) in exchange for peace.

Israel's policy of building settlements in occupied territory has meant continued confiscation of Arab land and annexation of Jewrusalem and the Golan Heights.

At Camp David 1978, the first peace treaty between Israel and an Arab state is hammered out.

In return for peace with Egypt, Israel agrees to hand back the Sinai and remove all Jewish settlements there. A highway is to be built between Jordan and Egypt that Israel guarantees "Free and Peaceful Passage". Israeli airbases built in Sinai to be handed over to Egyptian civil authorities.

Israel and Egypt agree to set up an "Elected self governing authority" on the West Bank and Gaza, and within 3 years the final status of the two areas to be determined.

At Camp David, Egyptian Pres. Sadat was under great pressure to further the Palestine cause, but in the end this issue was largely ignored.

The reluctance of Arab states to take Palestine refugees, and the wish of many Palestinians to keep their identity and status as a dispossessed people, led to the continuation of the refugee camps set up in 1967 and 1967.

Israel reoccupies the West Bank and Gaza, and the Syrian Golan Heights continues to be held by Israel. Israel maintains strict military control over all Palestine territory.

Israel invades southern Lebanon in 1978 and 1982, withdrawing in 2002.

Main items discussed at Camp David, Oslo & Taba were;
[1] The "Green line" (67 borders) to be the border of Israel with only little modification.
[2] Small groups of Israeli settlement in the West Bank to be retained, the rest removed including from Gaza.
[3] Israel gives desert land to Palestine in compensation for the above.
[4] 3 electronic listening posts to be set up by Israel in the Jordon Valley.
[5] A "Safe Transit" route established between Gaza and West Bank.
[6] Jerusalem divided on the basis of Jewish/Arab residents...

By early 2003, no agreements have been reached. Israel continues its policy of colonisation of occupied territory (in violation of the 4th Geneva Convention) and the confiscation of precious water resources in the West Bank for new Israeli settlements.
