in the east comprises 80% of the land area of Jordan. The Great Rift Valley separates
the east and west banks of the Jordan River. The highlands immediately to the
east of this valley are irrigated, but the bulk of Jordan's arable land is in
the (Israeli occupied) West Bank. |
