Geography: The terrain is mostly low lying plateau to slightly undulating desert plain, rising westward to a maximum elevation of 300 metres in the southwest at Ash Shaqaya. The southwestern border with Iraq is incised by the Wadi al Batin. About 93% of Kuwait is stony desert, with less than 1% arable land.
Flag: An official explanation of the Panarab colours stated that black symbolised the defeat of it's enemies, white was for purity, green for the fertile land, and red for enemies blood on Kuwaiti swords.
