The
land rises from the narrow coastal plain eastwards to form the Mt Lebanon Range,
that stretches to over 30% of the area of Lebanon. Between the eastern slopes
of this principle range and the Anti Lebanon, lies the fertile Beqaa Valley (in
fact a plateau of average elevation of 1000m). 21% of the land is arable, a futher
8% is forested. |
