Most of Zambean territory comprises of an elevated plateau with isolated peaks and hill ranges rising in the north to 1800m at Chimbwingombi and 2067m SE of Lake Tanganyika In the northern part of the country a number of rivers drain southwards to join the Zambezi river. This river defines part of the Zambezi/Zambia border. Navigation is impeded by it's torential rapids and falls including the Victoris Falls in the South East. |
